Art Arena Gallery Inc. is a volunteer run community art space hosting a wide array of art exhibitions, workshops and events. We are the longest serving Artist-Run-Initiative in the Illawarra, for 31 years, we have functioned as a cultural hub for Wollongong art.  Art Arena Gallery Inc. serves as an incubator that fuels creative industry, supporting career, emerging and raw artists. 

In 2014 a new committee board was elected to revitalise the space visually, increase accessability and exposure for the Illawarra Arts Community.  As an Artist-Run-Initiative, our committee is collectively working and planning to ensure our gallery is a sustainable incorporation.  Our core agenda is to exhibit culturally rich local artworks; show a diverse spectrum of career, emerging and raw artists; as well as display a wide array of both traditional and contemporary media and formats. 

Wollongong’s art and culture scene is thriving, thanks to countless hours of voluntary work by arts advocates in various culture hubs around the Illawarra as well as a growing eagerness for our public to immerse itself in art by regularly attending exhibitions, events and artist talks.
